To celebrate Women's Month we caught up with Lameez, who manages our Table Bay store.
  • Describe yourself in 5 words?

Bubbly, Positive, Self-driven, Free-spirit & Work orientated.

  • Where do you see yourself in 5 years' time?

Over the next few years, I want to explore and develop skills in visual merchandising or interior design.  In five years, I would like to be in a career with Visual Merchandising. I have previously worked as a manager in a beauty spa that has just undergone a revamp and I’ve shared ideas with them regarding the spa's
new design and layout. I will be looking for opportunities to expand my
responsibilities within this role to work towards my goals.

  • Who is a woman that inspires you and why?

Its goes with no surprise that my mother is my role model. Having growing up in a home whereby my Mother raised and two siblings as a single mother and always  pushed us to do better in life.  My Mom is the reason I've become the
person I am today.  My Mom works at a law firm and has a very strict approach,
she’s loving but also tough.  She has always been a very self-driven and self-motivated person and teaches me that up until this day, in time, no dream is too big and nothing is impossible.

My household growing up has been around females and no males therefore all the guidance I've ever received in life and from life, has been from ladies - specifically my Mom.

  • What advice would you give to your younger self?

Anything is possible if enough time or effort is put into achieving your goal or dream.

  • What is the significance of Women's Day to you?

Women can do anything!

We live in a world whereby women have been discriminated against when wanting to do certain things or taking on certain career paths, such as mechanical engineering, construction, police force, soccer players, you name it!  Women have now been recognized in so many aspects in life and are now able to tackle anything people throw at them.  Women stand together to achieve and accomplish amazing things.
