Three riders from our local Vissla team are heading to El Salvador for the 2026 ISA World Junior Surfing Championship.
From 4–13 September, Cello Zedde, Rory Dace and Josh Malherbe will take on the world stage, representing Zimbabwe and South Africa respectively.
As the South African distributors of Vissla, it’s a pretty special moment for us to see three riders from our local team make the trip.

A new flag in the lineup.
This year’s World Junior Surfing Championship marks a historic moment for Zimbabwean surfing.
Zimbabwe officially joined the International Surfing Association in August 2026, opening the door for the nation to compete on the international surfing stage — with Cello set to be among the first surfers to represent Zimbabwe internationally.
For Cello, El Salvador is more than another competition. It’s the opportunity to paddle out carrying a new flag and be part of the beginning of something much bigger for surfing in Zimbabwe.

Rory Dace // South Africa 🇿🇦
Back on the world stage.
Rory heads to El Salvador as part of the South African U18 Boys team, returning to the ISA World Junior stage after previously competing at the event.
A long-time member of our Vissla team, Rory has grown into one of South Africa’s exciting young surfers — and we’re looking forward to seeing him back in green and gold against the world’s best juniors.

Josh Malherbe // South Africa 🇿🇦
First cap. First Worlds.
For Josh, this year brings a major milestone: his first Junior Proteas cap and his first ISA World Junior Surfing Championship representing South Africa.
Josh joins Rory in the U18 Boys team and heads to El Salvador ready to make the most of his first opportunity on the world stage.
